New ELBO Development for Large-Scale Drives in Offshore Wind Turbines and Rope Winches

Publicado el 19 julio 2014, categoría Producto.

In line with our guiding principle D2C ‚Designed to Customer‘, we have reacted to specific customer enquiries with the further development of the ELBO coupling for various projects in the plant engineering industry. This solution is designed to replace existing pin and bush couplings.

The principle of the ELBO coupling consists in the torque-dependent arrangement of individual segments on an associated diameter in a flange. Through varying the arrangement, different torques can be transmitted by means of one single segment type. The freedom from backlash is preserved over the operating period. This is the decisive advantage over conventional pin and bush couplings which tend to develop backlash in use and need to be re-adjusted again and again with quite some effort and with the aid of re-adjustment devices. Maintenance-free. Flexible to use. Designed to Customer! ELBO

Adding to this is the comparatively light weight of the new design which can prove to be extremely beneficial for the customer both in terms of installation and operation and in terms of the price. The first D2C prototypes have already been supplied for a large offshore wind turbine. Various projects for ropeway drives are also in progress.
